If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’re feeling that tug. The one that whispers:
“Something about this isn’t working.”
Maybe your child is coming home stressed, misunderstood, or uninspired.
Maybe you are.
Maybe the system feels more like a treadmill than a place where your child can truly thrive.
I get it. We were there too.
Why We Left
Our family’s homeschool story began with what many would call a “good” public school. You know the kind—test scores were high, teachers were kind, and bulletin boards were bright. But my son? He was dimming.
He wanted to move. He wanted to build. He asked questions that didn’t fit neatly into lesson plans.
Instead of being seen as curious or energetic, he was labeled a “behavior problem.”
Spoiler alert: he wasn’t the problem. The system was.
As a teacher, I believed in public school education, so we tried to make it work. We really did. But over time, we realized something powerful:
The classroom wasn’t built for kids like ours and not only that, but my thoughts and feelings were no longer aligned with public school education as a whole.
So we left.

What We Found in Homeschooling
Homeschooling isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. It gave us the freedom to:
- Let our kids follow their interests without waiting for permission
- Move at their pace, not the pace of a standardized test
- Replace worksheets with real-world learning
- Focus on life skills, creativity, curiosity, and joy
We found peace. We found connection. We found our kids again.
And best of all, we found ourselves becoming the kind of family we always hoped we could be—rooted, present, and learning together.

But I Was Scared Too…
I didn’t grow up homeschooled. I didn’t know anyone doing it. I had no idea where to start.
And that fear? It was loud.
- “What if I mess up their education?”
- “What if they fall behind?”
- “What about socialization?”
But let me tell you what I’ve learned: You are enough and you will figure it out.
Will it be perfect? No. But will it be loving, challenging, and worth your energy and efforts. Absolutely

Leaving public school wasn’t the easiest choice we’ve ever made.
But it was the most right one.
